Canadian based, Ghanaian inspired, Bohten is committed to producing high quality eyeglasses from reclaimed material.
Their Story
It is on the mountainous region of Kwahu, highest
habitable place in Ghana that Bôhten began its journey. Nana Osei, Founder of Bôhten
amongst various ideas, had the initiative to use reclaimed material to
manufacture an eco-luxury eyewear line. He draws inspiration from his Ghanaian
roots, from his love of nature but mostly from his late grandfather Andrew
Hanson Osei, who was Ghana’s first land surveyor in the 60’s.
Why Bohten?
Bôhten’s mission is to develop a compost management
initiative that collects environmental waste (barley, wheat, straw, lumber, wood)
etc. We also look to create a chain of workshops that are responsible for the
crafting and manufacturing of designer glasses in Africa and in various
countries. This is the first step to a journey that will be nothing short of
historic.
As a company they pride
theirselves as leaders in a movement not yet realized. A shift towards a
paradigm where social consciousness collides with creative expression.
They are
the representation not yet recognized that seeks to pay homage to a love
of
fashion without the loss of social responsibility. They’re not just a
brand, they’re a revolution. They want to make more than just a
statement, they want to make
a difference. Join us on their
quest buy buying their product as they seek to change the face of design
with a vision that advocates both changes and awareness.
They also have optical models!
